Volleyball Blog (Natalia #2)

Hello again!

What a night… Wednesday’s game against Dominguez Hills was not what we expected, but it sure was what we needed. We snapped a four game losing streak after taking them an exciting five sets… a little too close for comfort, but in the end we definitely showed how great of a team we can be.

The past two weekends of competition on the road were extremely difficult mentally. We struggled to finish after leading teams an entire set or coming back to tie up the scores and as a result suffered several disappointing and tough losses to teams that we have easily handled in the past.

In our defense, the CCAA is a little strange this year. Despite the fact that it has been notorious for hosting some of the toughest Division II match-ups any given weekend, it’s always been quite easy to predict who the top four or five teams would be. However, this season has been anything but that. As we close out this first half of conference this weekend with Humboldt and Sonoma, it will be very interesting to see what happens next when everyone starts facing each other for the second time.

This week is a big one for us.

It’s a relief to have last night’s win under our belt and also I believe a much needed boost to help us prepare for Friday and Saturday.

We started out quite rocky in the match, but finished strongly and are looking forward to using that momentum against our NorCal opponents…. To those of you who made it out the game, thank you so much for your support!! It was amazing to finally have a full home crowd cheering for us now that school has started.

I hope to see you all again soon! :]
