Hey, my name is Melissa Lopez, and I am on the Women’s Cross country team. I am currently a sophomore and this will be my second year running for Cal State LA.
This season I have the privilege to be the student-athlete Cross Country blogger. I am really looking forward to sharing with yo
u all, our journey through the 2010 Cross Country season.
Our season started with a new assistant coach, Coach Laguna. The team this year is small, it consist of myself, Valerie, Justina and our new comers Raizah, Mariah, Maritza, and Sara. Even if we are a small team, I believe we will be a strong and competitive team.
We had our first race on September 4, at the CSUF Season Opener. I believe we did well. We came in 13th place and finished second out of the three CCAA teams that were there.
With our determination and strive we will have a great 2010 Cross Country season. From hill repeats, 10-12 mile runs, drills, weights, and more we will be ready for the obstacles and challenges that come our way.
Well, hope to see some of you at our race next Saturday, September 18 at the UC Riverside Invitational.
